I want to tell you how very pleased Doug and I are with the Dovetail Organizer. We have been trying, for several years, to gather all of our affairs and intentions together and laid down, in order to provide direction for our three children. It seemed that each time we attempted the task, the entire project grew tentacles and spiraled out of control. With Dovetail, we assembled all relevant materials and information, guided by 'The Checklist' provided.
Over the past few months, when time allowed, we each completed various sections of the document, plus scans. At this time, the entire Organizer is near completion and ready to be preserved on disc. What a relief! Dovetail Organizer is a brilliant system.

When we came to the section about my dad's military career, my brother and I were surprised when my father went into the desk that he uses and came out with a small booklet with his military information in it. His military numbers were there, all the rations that he was given and the amounts--a razor, one toothbrush, toothpaste, a silk ribbon etc- it was amazing. It had a soldier's prayer in it, the artillery that he was trained on and the dates, his promotions and the dates.
My father is 89 years old and this was the first time either my brother or I had seen this. This lead to a discussion about his military career, and we found out things about our dad that he had never shared with us.
If we hadn't been filling out the dovetail organizer™, we would never have had this conversation and we would never have known about this part of our father's life.

As a practising lawyer and a senior citizen, it is important to me to be organized, at home as well as at work. However, the home organization has been tenuous at best. I just never seem to get caught up on filing that pile of papers in to the proper files. I had just gone through finalizing my late aunt's estate (not an easy task) and thought that this tool would be ideal to get my family's affairs is order.
I found the software to be very user friendly - almost idiot-proof actually. I've heard of other "paper" programs that help organize this type of information but preferred the idea of an electronic version.
I have since recommended it to family and friends and will continue to do so.
Offhand, I can't think of anything that I would recommend to improve the product but if I do think of something, I'll be sure to let you know.
